Bringing a championship to hometown fans in Cleveland fulfilled a dream but kept James ever cautious.
"For me when I chose to go back and I talked to Mav and Rich and Randy and everybody, I had to let them know some people were on the fence", James said. Back in those '98 Finals, an era of plodding, isolation ball, the Bulls and Jazz averaged only 147 shots a game. "James might be thinking like another of his good friends, rapper Jay Z on his classic posse cut "Reservoir Dogs": "'The weather's nicer and the price is much cheaper". And they're playing like one of the best teams once again. They're a bad team, period.
"You're talking about guys who handle the ball, who shoot from range, who cut, who are kind of used to playing off the ball, so that the transition I think was pretty smooth", Kerr said. James already has left Cleveland once for four seasons with the Miami Heat, and returned in 2014.
And James wasn't the only member of his family who felt this way.
"I don't know. I don't know".
"I definitely want to compete".
However, as discussed earlier, the Cavaliers needed a ton of things to fall in place for them to make that valiant run to the Championship last season. Mats because he could be getting swept twice in the National Basketball Association finals.
They got starting quality out of role players like Steve Kerr, John Paxson, Bill Cartwright, Stacey King, Scott Williams, Craig Hodges, to name but a few. So the Cavs know what they're dealing with. Cleveland beat Golden State in the finals a year ago. The series goes back to Oakland for Game 5 on Monday, June 12, 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
"We have a great opportunity to give ourselves another opportunity to keep going", James said. So by no means are we giving in.
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are on the cusp of being swept in the NBA Finals by the Golden State Warriors. The series ended up going six games - which at this point would be a great accomplishment for the Cavs. It's the best team on the planet one of the best teams of all time I'll get to drink and a little bit but.
Is Jordan the man you want at crunch time to win a title? "The other stuff doesn't really matter".
