Farmers in Madhya Pradesh are on strike from June 1 to June 10 to demand waiver of their loans and that their produce be bought at a fair price. He subsequently raised these to Rs 1 crore and Rs 5 lakh, respectively. He also listed the steps taken by his government to provide relief to the farmers.

And demonetisation hit the farmers the most. Congressmen stopped a train in Dewas during the protest.
S K Singh, a senior government official in Mandsaur, told AFP the situation was broadly under control and the curfew would be lifted once the situation improved. Asked if the police will take action against those who misbehaved with him, the district magistrate said, "It was the law-enforcers' job". They also burnt down several vehicles including seven buses and a state-owned medical van. In Neemuch district, adjoining district of Mandsaur, a police outpost was torched in Harkiya Khal Phanta area.

"Farmers were seeking loan waivers and right price, but the BJP killed them". It is a matter of urgency for BJP to resolve the issue with full democratic intellect (which is yet to be seen) at earliest otherwise these two states, which share their neighborhood with Gujarat, may cost BJP the elections in Gujarat in the coming months.
