LG launches V30 at IFA 2017: Here are the specs and features

The LG V30 will succeed last year's V20 and is a significant departure from the design language of LG's V series.

The V30 uses a rear dual-camera system with a 16-megapixel f/1.6 camera with a 71-degree field of view (FOV) and a 13-megapixel f/1.9 camera with wide-angle FOV of 120 degrees.

The LG V30 is now officially out and the launch event provided all the details that one should know, including the design, specifications and pricing of this unbelievable new smartphone. The LG V30, however, retained the unique strengths of the predecessor, but there are few missing points. Thanks to the 18:9 aspect ratio, the V30 doesn't feel as a 6-inch display smartphone. The volume rockers are placed on the left-hand edge, while the SIM slot is situated on the right-hand edge of the smartphone. It's also MIL-STD-810 tested, to the device should be sturdy against the elements. Despite going back to making the two cameras the same megapixel-count in the G6, the V30 has gone back to making the main camera a bit higher resolution. It started with the LG G6 and the same 18:9 display was carried over to the mid range LG Q6. The screen is a vibrant and crisp OLED panel protected with the Gorilla Glass 5 layer.

LG Electronics on Thursday introduced a slimmer version of its top-of-the-line phone, with advanced new camera and voice-activation features aimed at active video users, which it hopes can help it claw back market share lost to rivals.

The Snapdragon 835 chipset powers the LG V30 along with 4 GB of RAM. The device is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage, while the LG V30+ offers 128GB of storage option, with both of them offering up to 2TB of expandable storage.

The V30 had the support of Android 7.1.2 Nougat. The phone also comes with a customizable always-on display.

The LG V30 features a headphone jack and the audio output from the smartphone sounds pretty good with the Quad DAC and B&O (Bang & Olufsen) Play branded speakers. MQA, short for Master Quality Audio, is among a multiplicity of formats vying to be the standard for audiophiles looking to move beyond compressed MP3s. We have not yet experienced the newly launched LG V30.

Users can ask their device to perform tasks, by asking a questions starting with the phrase 'Ok Google'. With a large aperture, more light can hit the image sensor leading to better image quality. The dual rear camera setup uses Crystal Clear Lens instead of plastic for correct colour reproduction and capturing sharp and clear photographs. While the rear camera sports 16MP and 13MP lens, the front camera is of 5MP. Absolutely. Does it also have what sounds like superlative audio upgrade following on from the V20's benchmark-setting hardware and a camera that will give its competitors a run for their money? Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C 2.0 (3.1 compatible).

LG has made the cameras more powerful and also smaller in size compared to previous flagships. The V30 also comes with the Google Assistant.
